Its once again not the same as the global Navara. Frontier looks to be a good amount longer.

If that is what it looks like, I don’t hate it. Got a lot of Titan in it but maybe they hav e toned down the F150 wannabe looks.

The Frontier is one of the new vehicles I’m most excited because I’d seriously consider one. I’m also looking forward to a new Pathfinder too because the current one is ridiculously outdated. They’re capable cars, but the foot-activated parking brake and no CarPlay are gross.

How in the hell is it a better idea to sell the Navaro some places and the Frontier others, instead of one global platform?

Americans buy trucks as cushy daily drivers. They want good interior room and car-like handling. For global markets their trucks are smaller, and since they don’t have full sizes they are designed to handle higher payload.
You can see the difference in size:

(I think your picture got Kinja’d, I can’t see it)
Changing shocks and interior trims is way more cost effective than redesigning a whole truck though right?
And the Navara isn’t any smaller than a Colorado or Ranger. The Frontier is a midsize truck, not a full size.

Not sure about the Ranger, but the US Colorado is completely different from the global truck other than the cabin body panels and diesel engine. Even the frame was redone based on the Silverado design with a longer wheelbase.
Tacoma/Hilix, Frontier/Navara etc. That just shows how different the US market is from the global market.

Actually, I just thought of another thing too. Chicken Tax. I bet it’s more cost effective to have a truck built and sold in N.A. than it is to ship it in from another country, even if it is on the same platform.......

It would still be more cost effective to build the same truck globally. Development costs for an individual vehicle can reach into the $ billions.
GM for example builds Cadillacs and Buicks in China for that market to avoid import taxes which are essentially the same vehicles in the US.
